Academic Mobility in Warsaw: European Experience and Partnership
MIND (Mental health for educational Inclusion in Distressed Ukrainian VET),

The future of Ukrainian education is being shaped today—through cooperation with international partners, the open exchange of experience, and a readiness to implement change. For the International University, a significant step on this path was an academic mobility visit to Warsaw (Republic of Poland), undertaken by a delegation of university faculty and staff from September 7 to 12, 2026.
This mobility initiative was carried out with the support of the International University’s President, Academician Serhiy Kivalov, and Rector, Professor Kostiantyn Hromovenko. It continued the university’s collaboration within the MIND project (Mental Health for Educational Inclusion in Distressed Ukrainian VET), which began during an initial mobility visit to Belgium in March 2026.
The delegation included Vitalii Kukushkin, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health; Svitlana Yermakova, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology; Nataliia Lebedieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology; Anastasiia Svitlychna, Lead Specialist in the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department; Liubov Pershyna, Associate Professor of the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology and Foreign Language Teaching Methodology; and Nataliia Shashurina, a lecturer at the Professional College.
The core focus of the MIND project—"Mental Health for Educational Inclusion in Distressed Ukrainian VET"—is supporting individuals through mental health preservation, psychological support during crises, and educational inclusion. These areas combine professional training with a focus on the needs of students and faculty, helping to create an environment where learning and building a future are possible despite the challenges of the war. During the training sessions in Warsaw, university representatives also familiarized themselves with the European Qualifications Framework and the Polish Qualifications Framework; this served as a foundation for aligning Ukrainian educational institutions with the European Higher Education Area and enhancing their capacity to prepare professionals for a changing society.
A key event of the visit was the second transnational meeting of the MIND partners, held at the ADN Institute. The partners discussed project implementation, the development of training materials and an e-learning platform, upcoming mobility activities, and the dissemination of results. Particular attention was paid to the quality of the joint outputs and their potential for future application in the educational process.
This dialogue will continue at the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Psychology of the Individual's Life Space Amidst Crisis, Globalization, and the Digital Transformation of Social Life," scheduled for September 24–25, 2026, at the International University. Issues such as mental health, psychological support during wartime, inclusion, and the professional development of young people will integrate the themes of the MIND project with the conference’s academic discussions, workshops, and training sessions.
Overall, the International University continues to expand its international academic cooperation, ensuring that European experience creates opportunities for Ukrainian youth, supports their professional futures, and contributes to the recovery of Ukraine.
