Палермо, Сицилія: стратегічний діалог про майбутнє української освіти.
Третя зустріч у межах міжнародного проєкту Erasmus+ «FreeAc» (Promoting Academic Freedom in Ukraine), що відбулася в Палермо, об’єднала представників української та польської наукової спільноти, неурядових організацій (NGOs), а також експертів-практиків для вирішення складного завдання — створення дорожньої карти відновлення української вищої освіти.
Факультет права та економіки Міжнародного університету взяв активну участь у цій зустрічі в особі представників: кафедри морського та міжнародного права — професора кафедри Світлани Андрейченко, яка також одночасно представляла університет Грац (Австрія), та доцента Наталії Бааджі; кафедри економіки та міжнародних відносин — доцента Олени Запорожець, яка також виступила як запрошений експерт, представляючи митні органи.
Про що говорили в Палермо?
Це була не класична конференція, а інтенсивна «стратегічна лабораторія». Обговорення відбувалося за чотирма критично важливими напрямами:
1. Людський капітал — як повернути студентів і науковців та зупинити «відтік мізків»
2. Академічна свобода — як зберегти автономію університетів в умовах війни
3. Євроінтеграція — синхронізація наших стандартів із європейським освітнім простором
4. Стійкість — перехід від екстреної донорської допомоги до довгострокового інвестування
Основний підсумок:
Відновлення освіти — це не лише про стіни та будівлі. Це про створення умов, за яких українські дипломи та наукові дослідження визнаються у всьому світі, а науковці почуваються захищеними й потрібними вдома.
Сицилія надихнула на нові рішення, а напрацювання зустрічі стануть основою для Strategic Outlook — документа, який визначить вектор розвитку українських університетів після перемоги.

Palermo, Sicily: Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Ukrainian Education.
The third meeting within the framework of the international Erasmus+ project “FreeAc” (Promoting Academic Freedom in Ukraine), held in Palermo, brought together representatives of the Ukrainian and Polish academic community, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as practical experts to solve the difficult task of creating a roadmap for the restoration of Ukrainian higher education.
The Faculty of Law and Economics of the International University took an active part in this meeting represented by representatives of: the Department of Maritime and International Law – Professor Svitlana Andreichenko, who also simultaneously represented the University of Graz (Austria), and Associate Professor Natalia Baadzhi; the Department of Economics and International Relations – Associate Professor Olena Zaporozhets, who also acted as an invited expert, representing the customs authorities.
What was discussed in Palermo?
It was not a classic conference, but an intensive “strategic laboratory”. The discussion took place in four critical areas:
1. Human capital - how to bring back students and scientists and stop the "brain drain"
2. Academic freedom - how to preserve the autonomy of universities in times of war
3. European integration - synchronizing our standards with the European educational space
4. Sustainability - moving from emergency donor assistance to long-term investment
Main conclusion:
Restoring education is not just about walls and buildings. It is about creating conditions under which Ukrainian diplomas and scientific research are recognized worldwide, and scientists feel protected and needed at home.
Sicily inspired new solutions, and the results of the meeting will become the basis for the Strategic Outlook - a document that will determine the vector of development of Ukrainian universities after victory.
