The first intake in 2003 was only 100 students. Currently, there are over 4,000 students studying in the eight faculties and two institutes of the IU.
The university has a cultural center and a film club. The construction of a 24-story dormitory, a conference hall, a sports center and a state-of-the-art library is underway.
